Title: Quick Tip - Resizing Windows
Post by: PCNetSpec on November 12, 2015, 08:03:50 pm
Ever have problems grabbing the edge of a window with the mouse/touchpad to resize it ?

Hit Alt+Space followed by the R key .. the mouse cursor should jump to the lower right of the active window and already have the edge "grabbed" for you, so all you have to do is drag that corner until the window is resized to your requirement, then click your mouse to release.

Thank you.   I love learning multiple ways of doing things as I never know which way my brain will be working on any given day.

You can also achieve similar results by using the following combo  "alt+hold right mouse click"  when your mouse is near the edge you want to move. It doesn't have to be very close either.

You can indeed .. I'd forgotten about that one, so thanks for the reminder :)

[EDIT]

It's good to have both methods up here .. your method is better with a mouse, my method is better for a touchpad :)

Don't forget: Alt+F8.  This is a great one when trying to grab an edge 1 px wide is starting to drive you nuts  >:(.

Cool .. that's one I hadn't come across before :)

On my laptop it must be the left Alt .. AltGr+F8 grabs the divider in nemo.
