Hi penrose1950,

I don't know much about my-weather-indicator, but if PCNetSpec gave you the correct path to use then it appears that it is not (or no longer) installed. Maybe try posting the output to this:

Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep my-weather-indicator
You might have to reinstall it. Good luck.

Regards,

How weird is that .. one command says the directory doesn't exist and the other says it does  :-\

Maybe a filesystem error (?) .. try running:
Code: [Select]
sudo touch /forcefsckthen reboot .. during the bootup you should see a filesystem check being run.

Once rebooted run:
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -rv /opt/extras.ubuntu.comdid that run without error.

Can you try to be more descriptive....

It doesn't show anything "on the desktop", it displays something in the system tray .. or are you saying it doesn't display anything in the system tray (or put more succinctly "it doesn't autostart") ?

nothing in the system tray and nothing on the desktop which i presume means it does not auto-start,i did tick in preferences to auto-start
it used to work fine with Peppermint 5
thank you.
