Can you install the latest liquorix kernel in Peppermint?  Has anyone tried it?   :-\
Thanks.

Sure!  It's one of my favorite kernels, but...

I haven't tried it on Peppermint 6, yet.

I'll do that now...   :D

Hey VinDSL,
Did you have a chance to try the Liquorix Kernel on Peppermint yet?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey VinDSL,
Did you have a chance to try the Liquorix Kernel on Peppermint yet?  Inquiring minds want to know.

I got it installed, but it doesn't work on my Peppermint USB stick.  It was great fun, all the same!

I had to go find GCC-4.9 in the Launchpad toolchain repo, and chroot it into Peppermint 6.  The way the control file is written, in the Liquorix header deb, it won't recognize the GCC-4.9 'Updates' version we're running.  Once I got the GCC straightened around,  Liquorix installed without error, but it bulked at boot with EXT4 errors.  I'm not running the EXT4 fs on my USB stick, so there's a piece of the puzzle missing.  I *suspect* the author didn't think anyone was goofy enough to run Liquorix on a thumbdrive, and he left those components out, when he compiled it.

I have a *feeling* it will work on a HDD/SSD install, but I haven't tried it yet.  And, I  *think* it will work on my USB install, if I add some items and compile it myself.  But, I ran out of time, yesterday.

I'll keep playing around, and see if I can get it working.  It's turned into a challenge now...   8)
