Anyone using Peppermix-Dark *may* want to look at this:

and please let me know which you prefer (in the topic linked above, NOT here) .. stripes or not ?

Can I add this dark theme to Peppermint 5 as well?  If so how would I do it?  Thanks.

Sure.  Just use Nemo (file manager) to go to /usr/share/themes and copy the Peppermix-Dark folder to a device (flash drive, etc)  Take that to whatever computer you're using with P5 and copy the Peppermix-Dark folder to the folder, ~/.themes.  (in your home folder, you'll have to create this folder) Then it *should* become available.  If not, run this using the Run command:

Code: [Select]
gksu pcmanfm

Then copy the folder to /usr/share/themes

Edit:  After a correction from perknh, I changed the P5 file manager command from Nemo to PCManFM.  :)

I don't think so, scifidude79.  Nemo is a new file manager for Peppermint 6.  Problem is, I can't remember what the file manager in Peppermint 5 was called.  Does PCManFM sound right?  Yep, it's right!

Thank you, AndyInMokum.  ;)

Thanks perknh.  I couldn't remember if 5 still used PCManFM or not and I didn't feel like booting up my laptop to check.

To be honest, I cheated!  I looked in a P5 review for the answer, and still wasn't sure if I was right.  :-\  AndyInMokem, on the other hand, knew it off the top his head!  ;)

There are a lot of things I don't understand about Linux, but I find File Managers especially difficult.

All that being said, you're welcome!

Hi zebedeeboss, I've made your image show in the forum by changing the encapsulated url to an encapsulated image.  That's a fine looking desktop you have there - nice job.  I think It's great fun having something as customisable as Peppermint to play with  ;)!!

Thank you AndyInMokum,

The more time I spend here the more I learn :)

I like to kick back sometimes and just wallow in the wallpaper.   It will change regularly.

My tip for posting screenshots is to go to imgur.com (http://imgur.com/) and upload to there.

Once you've uploaded the image, you will have the chance to copy the correct code to embed as a thumbnail on this forum.

So it's then copy/paste into your post. I find it very quick and easy  ;)
