Title: Trouble in Paradise. Is Kubuntu going its own way?
Post by: AndyInMokum on May 29, 2015, 03:57:49 pm
The Ubuntu Community Council has announced it is no longer recognising the authority of Jonathan Riddell, the leader of the Kubuntu Council and former Kubuntu project leader.  Basically he's been told to take a long vacation and not to come back.  This has enraged the Kubuntu world and has caused a huge rift in the Ubuntu familly.  Are Kubuntu getting ready to go it alone?  We'll have to wait and see how this drama pans out  ;).

since this happened maybe they should actually change the name of the distro as a way of saying 'jump in a lake'
and maybe do their own thing and create somethign new but still keep their users. I've noticed the ubuntu community
is not as friendly and easy going as peppermint/elementary/mint communities maybe because their all jealous their basing
distros on theirs and making it better  :D :D :D :D :D :D

And all because Canonical/Ubunntu/the CC have never clarified the legal position after they made those demands of Mint .. and don't like someone demanding they do so ?

If that's the case, it STILL seems like sour grapes and obfuscation on Canonical/Ubuntu/the CC's behalf.
