Title: Installing from LiveUSB
Post by: jack444 on September 20, 2014, 01:39:30 pm
I created a Peppermint live USB using UNetBootin.
Selecting either 'Try live', or, 'Install', I get the same error message:

(initramfs) stdin: not a typewriter
mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: invalid argument
can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

Been googling this with no luck so far.

Thank you!

Have you checked the ISO's MD5 checksum ?

and have you tried using a different USB stick and/or USB creator app ?

How much RAM does your system have ?

Have you checked the ISO's MD5 checksum ?

yes, it matches

and have you tried using a different USB stick and/or USB creator app ?

yes, first I tried "USB Image Writer" that comes with Linux Mint, then UNetBootin -- same result each time

How much RAM does your system have ?

My laptop that I want to put Peppermint on has 4GB RAM.

Any chance that setting persistent memory on the live USB creation at 3GB would create an issue? The USB key is 16GB

Thanks!
