Title: Unable to delete SSBs via it's REMOVE function? [RESOLVED] on it's own
Post by: spence on September 27, 2020, 10:35:58 am

I have a current need to delete some  of my 30 some ICE SSBs which are no longer necessary. Using ICE's removal utility no longer works though. Have any of our recent ICE modifications caused this to be an issue for anyone else?

I'd just as soon not dive into editing the whisker menu like the last person to report this issue resorted to:

I just tested it, and it works fine for me. Are you doubling clicking the SSBs in the remove menu or single clicking them?

single nor double click makes a difference, either merely highlights the SSB, then I need to select REMOVE... while it disappears from the ICE Remove utility, the SSB remains in the Whisker Menu

Yep it's working fine for me as well...btw guys is that ready for prime time? I plan to ship it with Pep11 ... I will be leaving the old version behind.

So far it works on the bases,
Debian, Devuan and Ubuntu.
For me at least

 ;)

I was not aware we were updating to the new version before shipping Pep11 @Pizza? Or did you push a backdoor update that I missed?

 :-\

My apologies for my extended absence here...   :-X

Anyway, my situation became more weird today, I can delete some ICE SSBs, but not all the ones I want to delete. They ALL appear to delete when chosing to REMOVE them via ICE menu. But upon a reboot or refresh, some of the deleted ones reappear in my menu.

In my experience it is ready for prime time.

I don't know spence's issue though, because it even works when I use Peppermint 10, and than install the new ice over it, and remove the SSBs with the new version of ice even though they were created with the old version.

PCNetSpec would have stomped all over this talk about what's coming in our Pep11 update on the public facing posts... but since we're so far behind the normal release schedule, I'll resist my urge to delete all references to it...

so may I ask for a link @pizza? to the updated ICE?

@spence -  you can download the source here:
https://github.com/PizzaLovingNerd/ice

there is no .deb built yet but basically just download the files as a .zip.
Once you have the all and extracted somewhere.

The ice.py python file is  what you want to run.    8)
For example if you extracted the files in your downloads folder:
/home/youruser/Downloads/ice-master/usr/bin/ice.py
