Update manager no longer fully functional
« on: July 28, 2020, 10:28:23 am »
Hi there fellow Peppermint users, I am wondering whether anyone else has noticed this, since a few updates ago the update manager (mintUpdate 4.6.7+peppermint10.0.0.0) has stopped fully working, in the sense that it shows me what the updates are, but when I click to update, the gksudo no longer appears, and it just fades back quickly to the taskbar and the icon shows that there are updates.

If I upgrade using the terminal (sudo apt upgrade), the icon refreshes itself correctly, so whenever it says there are updates, there are indeed updates to be done, it just can no longer be done via the update manager.

I'm looking forward to any potential fixes to this.

Thank you all

Hi computershowtopro,

I personally always remove the update manager after installing PeppermintOS, so I cannot directly address your issue other than to say that the synaptic package manager really works well and is what I always use. Maybe someone else can offer you assistance concerning usage of the update manager.
