Title say it all really .. Jeff Hoogland, the guy who started Bodhi has decided to stand down and ask if someone else wants to take over the project....

http://jeffhoogland.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/stepping-down-from-bodhi-linux-lead.html

Will Bodhi survive this .. I certainly hope so.

In either case I'd like to wish Jeff good luck in all future endeavours, and say thanks for giving the world Bodhi :)

Erm, I wasn't suggesting anyone here takes it on .. and I certainly wouldn't want it to integrate with peppermint in any way, other than their "Terminology" terminal I'm not a fan of Enlightenment.

Not to mention Peppodhi or Pepperbod sound daft  :-X
(and Bodhimint sounds like some kind of skin care product)

I think it's sad and I fear for the project love it or hate it Bodhi was different and in many ways compelling

I'm not a fan of Enlightenment.

Only thing I use Enlightenment for is doorstop computers.

Example:  Here's a screenie of my "Never Obsolete" 1999 eMachine e-Tower 667ix (Intel Celeron with 192mb RAM)

88mb RAM is still free, sitting at the desktop.

Somebody at work donated this computer -- came with a pirated version of XP -- totally useless without Linux/E17...   8)

Jeff Hoogland was helping to push E 19 ahead with Bodhi.  Also the Bodhi Linux project has a real eye for aesthetics.  Bodhi really is a gorgeous distro.  I'm sorry to hear this news.

Jeff always got back to me when I wrote.  He's a smart and decent guy.  I wish him the best.

Thanks for telling us about this.

Distrowatch seem to think it's all over for Bodhi .. they've marked it as "Status: Discontinued":
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=bodhi

And removed it from the rankings .. seems somewhat premature to me, but maybe they know something we don't (?).

Thank you,  PCNetSpec,

I'll send this tread over to our SparkyLinux friends.  They work with the Enlightenment desktop.  I'd hate to see all of Jeff Hoogland's work go to waste, and he was the only person I know that was working with E 19.  Sparky's working with E 18, and Makulu Linux is still working with E 17, I believe.

This is sad news, really.  I know Kendall admired Jeff Hoogland's work too.

Jeff, I believe, is either a new father, or a father to a new child again.  He may realize he's going to be maxed out for the next several years.  Still, his leaving Bodhi is a loss for the Linux community.

PCNetSpec, thanks for keeping us up to date with the latest news concerning Bodhi Linux.  :(
