Hi josephd,

As one of the users of perknhs-personal-startpage, I too thank you for reactivating it.  8)

Me three absolutely love these html pages, they look so cool and function so damn well too, been lost without them. Thank you Joseph.
Not only is Peppermint an addictive OS to use.
But so is this Forum :)

@Rayzer send us a screenshot. It might be a good facelift to deploy when peppermint 11 comes out. Particularly if it will have similar theming.

I was thinking that although our current default start page resembles the Forum a new one could be inspired by the distro itself.

oh, that's very nice! Keep a backup somewhere safe. I think our start page can use that facelift.

It'd be really cool if our forum, might pick up color/design/shading cues from our default wallpaper & start page theming too... this blinding white is really getting to me...

I invite everyone to take a look https://peppermintos.com

I upgraded our website to a responsive and better supported theme.

I had no intention of changing our website until a full redesign but many of the plugins and the WordPress theme itself had some annoying flaws. The kind of things only another web developer would notice.  You couldn't tell by looking at it but the underlying features were a bit of a mess.

There was an odd glitch yesterday evening where the host wasn't connecting to WordPress.org and I led me to clean things up and use only the features we really need.

Hi @josephd,

You have done a very nice job on the website and have taken notice of your new title of Website Admin next to your name and pic.

I have also noticed that other qualified people are being delegated to what their talents are with Peppermint OS so all the "eggs" are no longer being kept in one basket, YAY.

This is a good thing that is sure to be for the best in being able to allow Pep to continue far into the future.

I have noticed one thing though about the new improved forum website that I do not know if it is by design or possibly overlooked.

When i am on the main index page or when i am typing a response such as this one, the Peppermint logo is present on the upper left hand side of my browser tab.

However, when i click onto a particular thread to read it and/or bookmark it into my browser, the Pep icon is no longer there and only a generic icon is present and I now have a bunch of just generic icons in my bookmarks instead of the Pep icons.

Is this by design or just overlooked in the improvement process ?

Warm regards,

The Omen

@The Omen, The missing icon is an oversight. Our forum's template must use more than one header file. I'll look into it over the weekend, likely an easy fix.

I placed "Website Admin" in my forum profile so people could easily find the person responsible for website/forum maintenance. While clarifying that although I'm an Admin in the my forum description that doesn't include moderation.

I'm aiming that we take advantage of our distributed community. I happen to be good at WordPress development and hosting, others are fantastic at community building and technical support. We've got some amazingly talented people in our community and we complement each other very well. I couldn't have accomplished a lot of this without the support of our entire team.
