New Alternate Theme WGAME
« on: May 27, 2020, 12:07:43 am »
Hi Everyone,
I updated our forum software this evening so you may have noticed a little downtime and the need to log in again.

I've also added an alternative theme for our forums. If you'd like to test it out simply select WGAME from your Profile's "Look and Feel" page at https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php?action=profile;area=theme

If testing goes I'll give this a proper If testing goes we'll I'll give this a proper Peppermint Red makeover. makeover.

Note that this theme has a toggle switch for light and dark mode right under the "hipster hero image" of people standing way too close to each other.  :o

Oh almost forgot its responsive! So checking in over your phone is little easier.

Hi rayzer,

I think that josephd put this here a bit early -- it only applies to the new layout that he is working on, but has not yet been deployed here on the official public forum.  ;)

Looks like I forgot to check a box allowing everyone who's not an admin to change their themes. Try again, it should be someone in your personal profile as an option. This URL may or may not work to get there. https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php?action=profile;area=theme

My long term goal would be to replace our default theme with a modified version of this one... That is if it works out. I'm finding a lot of little issues with this design but nothing that can't be fixed with a little effort. :D

i was logged out this morning, and ever since i logged back in, the menu for posts no longer works, the black box drops down, but unless you remember what the 4 choices are, you have no clue what you are clicking on....

@rjm65, thanks for the screenshot. I'll try to get that fixed tonight.
Last night I updated the forum software which probably changed how that menu is deployed. we were a few versions behind.

Although it looks nice, I don't care for the lack of dates listed on comments etc. Without knowing how long a post has been listed, there is no way of knowing if I should look for a solution. I generally don't look for solutions of posts with more than a month from the last post on it. That being said, how do I change back to the original? I've already tried changing back the same way I got it and it doesn't work.

edit, never mind, I found it.

Is it just me? Are the fonts not as black as they used to be?  :-\

Or is this a consequence of my request for greyer, rather than stark white backgrounds?   ::)

@alynur, yeah I'm not sold on WGAME either now that I've had a few days to test it out. Unfortunately SMF doesn't have a lot of modern options.

@Spence, Nope, I haven't modified the theme in any way. Its stock and added so we can test it for viability as a possible upgrade.

My complaint with our current default themet. it isn't responsive, making use on mobile devices difficult
