Latest update has locked me out
« on: May 24, 2020, 07:39:11 am »
For some reason Peppermint now requires me to enter a password to start up the system, something I never set up. When I try to log in as guest I get get thrown back to the login screen. When I select advanced options from GRUB I'm again sent to the main login screen. Bottom line is I cannot access anything in order to resolve this problem. Suggestions?

Hi KEP3,

Just a quick guess but could it be that your disk drive is running out of room? This sounds like what has just been reported here and maybe that (and the same solution) might solve your issue as well.  :-\

I don't think so. It's a 14GB partition with the OS on it and maybe a half dozen text files.  I've been trying to find some way to explore the partition from within Win10 but the solutions I've found either don't work or only show the folders. I'm hoping that will let me find the text file where I stashed the PW. Don't freak. If you don't pay attention you'll never see how to boot from Peppermint.

Do you still have your installation media? If so please boot into that and select "Try Peppermint"

From there, you may inspect your partitions via gparted...

Also while you are still in the LiveUSB, LiveCD or LiveDVD environment, please provide us the terminal output from:

Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz

Please reference this tutorial if you are unfamiliar with how to do so...
