Snapshot [Timeshift] settings
« on: May 19, 2020, 11:04:08 am »
dirived from the post 'A Newbie Discussion'

Snapshot, using Timeshift, is this a complete system 'backup' including data or [what I had hoped] an OS mirror only? The [first] snapshot I took was pretty big, larger than the space in use on my P10 system partition. How does one make a selection for just the OS mirror [I always have all my data on other drives and back them up to network locations which Timeshift cannot handle]

Answer from 'alynur' [quote   Hi lliam53, In Timeshift, if you click on Settings and then on Users, you should have Exclude All checked to exclude home folder files unless you want to save them. Depending on how many package software you have installed, the snapshot could be several gb in size. Hope that helps.

My thanks alynur, I shall get back with my observations, any further comments will always be welcome   lliam
