PeppermintOS What Comes Next...
« on: May 18, 2020, 04:11:59 pm »
Fans of PeppermintOS may well be pleased to know there were a few reveals about how #teampeppermint is coming back together in the wake of PeppermintOS CEO @PCNetSpec's untimely passing in January of 2020. https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,9402.msg94562.html#msg94562

On the May 17th episode of Sunday Linux Coffee Klatch hosted by @stevesveryown, there was an approved bit of pepOS news released

 https://youtu.be/zMBk9XMZzX0

Mostly #teampeppermint're pleased to let the world know, PeppermintOS will LIVE ON!  We have a build/code/dev team in place, rounded up from within the peppermint forums and Mark's collaborative associates. They're currently sorting thru the voluminous work PCNetSpec left behind as they sus out what may come next for pepOS. Happily Mark left us some guidance and a bit of a reveal of his own in his last ever interview here: http://www.linuxandubuntu.com/home/an-interview-with-peppermint-ceo-mark-greaves

Sunday was a bit of a worldwide trainwreck for everyone attempting to zoom into anything... anywhere... I personally didn't get to make it on air for my www debut until the 2:10:00 whatever mark.

We're keeping a light on for ya'll

 ;)

Fantastic news Spence!!! Glad to be here and knowing that Peppermint continues strongly!  8)
Yeah, Zoom was not working for me at all. Seems the servers around KY were not playing ball.

I still think basing Peppermint 11 on Solus is a fantastic idea!!!  8)

As Bugs Bunny would say, "I'm a stinker!" (meaning Ray)  :D

Grafiksinc made a comment on the video correcting me because I told Profetik Tiny Core.

@spence, thanks for posting the video.

It is great to know that Peppermint will live on. I have tried various Linux flavours over the years, kept coming back to Peppermint because of the community.

Any chance we can build a version for Raspberry Pi?  8)

Hi 10i,

That has long been a dream of mine too -- but, since we are such a small team, we have always had our hands full building and maintaining our standard releases.  ??? ;) Maybe it will someday come to pass.  :)

Good to hear from you again!!  8)

Regards,

They sure are! :o
[T]here are a lot of people happily running Peppermint ICE which hasn't been receiving ANY updates for a while now .. and I personally would STILL consider that MUCH more secure than any version of Windows with up-to-date AV/Anti-malware ;)
