Xfce4 panel weather plugin
« on: May 15, 2020, 04:55:13 am »
Hello,
Just a quick one. The  Xfce4 panel weather plugin day night symbol is out of sync i.e. I get sun in the evening and moon during the day. Is there a way to rectify please?
TYIA,
Igo

Hi Igo,

I found this topic in the Xfce-forum: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=12978

It seems like the plugin is not using the correct local time (but UTC) and the bug has been reported over a year ago.

Regards,
Fritz

Thank you Fritz. Should've looked there myself.

try right clicking the icon on the panel and open properties then do a manual search for your city or nearest capital so it will pick up your time zone manually. mine never works properly unless i set it up that way
For wallpapers ive made you can download them here

Thanks Rayzer. Have already done that and doesn't work for me  :'(. Also tried  emptying Timezone field and that didn't help either.

I've never got it to work properly, as it does not have Isle of Wight on it at all. Ever since Linux began the Isle of Wight has never been there in the weather app, not even Gnome's one. My brother got it working with Southampton weather station, but then he got conflicting reports because of the three mile stretch of water between the Isle of Wight and mainland Britain. That little puddle between us makes a huge difference on weather patterns.  :(
Not only is Peppermint an addictive OS to use.
But so is this Forum :)
