Made use of older parts for a basic work and play pc
« on: April 11, 2020, 11:41:48 am »
Hello to all from the U.K.
I've been using Linux Mint for a couple of years so have a little bit of Linuxy ways of doing stuff.
Haven't used windows for 2 years now.
Felt like I wanted explore a bit and put some bits together out of my bits box and saw a vid on YouTube recommending Peppermint OS so thought would try.
And I am curious about the ICE application.
So far I really like it and currently using the pc bits mentioned below to use it.
Installation OK with no problems.
Sensors sometimes gives a reading and sometimes doesn't! Shows ok in BIOS!
Everything else so far brilliant with no crashes or freezing or screen tearing.
Memory includes Firefox running and Shortwave playing internet radio.
Going see if a quite old webcam works next.

Take care everyone
TTFN

Welcome to Peppermint and the Peppermint Forum, itsjoojoo.  I hope you like your journey into Peppermint.  Peppermint is a great all round distro.  On old machines or new machines, as in the words of our very own Zebedee Boss, "It just works!"

Isn't it great when you put things together and get them to work.

I love Ice, I can turn any website into an "app".  For me it just incorporates well into my workflow.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your Peppermint discoveries.
