I dunno, that may not be enough RAM for Peppermint  ;D

???   Well I am learning how to be a day trader - hence the Windows 10 - Day Trading software doesn't work on Linux ><

32GB RAM will be just enough to run the s/w and the video card plus HDMI I will have three video screens for trade tracking    >:(   LOL  :)

And, so, the WiFi drivers don't work -- not sure why - but I have tried other distro's and it see's the interface buty don't not plumb up --
Network:   Card-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver: r8169
IF: eno1 state: up speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: <filter>
Card-2: Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
           IF: N/A state: N/A mac: N/A ...

I guess it really doesn't matter - as I indicated in an earlier post in this thread I was learning to be a day trader and will be using M$'louch more often ...  The Ethernet plug works just fine and I never really liked Wifi anyhow  :)   lol

A search on the www reveals that Linux & Realtek drivers have never got on easily nor well. I have a long running battle with them myself that has only been semi-resolved by a fresh install, then leaving the bluetooth additions installed, even though my desktop doesn't have bluetooth. ....

Forum member @rayzer seems to have extra abilities getting those installed, perhaps he'll chime in when he's next in the forum. Or you can search thru his posts.

It's rather a shame that the powers that be at AMD would lead you to believe drivers are necessary to run linux. Be that as it may, please remember to kindly edit the subject line of your OP (original post) in this or any of your threads to append (SOLVED), (RESOLVED) or (ABANDONED) at the end. Whichever suits the status of your OP (original post)

Doing so helps in two ways, it helps future foum users know whether or not a solution to similar issues have been found, and relieves our small team of forum moderators of the need to read thru threads previously completed.

We'll keep a light on for you! We understand the reason for the enforced pain. There's just no good linux alternative for trading...
meanwhile, be safe out there.

OK, please don't be mad BUT ... I jumped back into Linux Mint 19.3 and downloaded old Ubuntu WiFi drivers to get WiFi working ><

Now networking basically screams because it has two interfaces to work with - Ethernet and WiFi   lol

if you decide to try pep again go to this page, scroll down a bit & click on the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS section and download both versions of the driver for your platform and use gdebi to install. once installed just reboot

https://pkgs.org/search/?q=8168
For wallpapers ive made you can download them here

Thanks, I had totally forgotten about that site  :)

I will try again next week with Peppermint 10 using Realtek RTL8821CE from --> https://pkgs.org/search/?q=Realtek%20RTL8821CE

Since I am on a USB Stick reconfig'ing a Linux distro is easy-peasy   LOL

Thx/Bill
