Random lag on certain Wifi connections
« on: April 06, 2020, 06:59:03 am »
Hardware: Realtek RTL8723AE PCIe Wireless Network Adapte
Kernel: 5.3

Sometimes, the system becomes too slow and unusable. Everything hangs and stays like that. After a bit of checking I found out the cause was when it re-connects to a certain Wifi network (open BTW) . Usually I have to disable networking and the system immediately smoothens up. Attempting to shutdown after this takes forever and I have to force shutdown with the power button. Is this a common bug?

Ubuntu Realtek pages says the card suffers from flactuations.

Is this a kernel related issue?

A quick search on this forum or anywhere else on the WWW reveals the Linux & Realtek Driver combination, are often problematic... if you are using a USB wifi dongle, please make sure it's inserted before running the following terminal commands

Please help us help you by giving us the terminal output from:
Code: [Select]

inxi -Fz

Additionally, please give us the terminal outputs as requested by @PCNetSpec in the Networking Forum's pinned post.  Often a light goes off as you read thru these outputs
