Excel Editing Multiple Sheets Simultaneously RESOLVED
« on: March 18, 2020, 09:53:25 am »
I just installed Peppermint today and love what I see so far.

I am trying to edit a 13 sheet excel file by modifying all of them at one time.  Problem: I am an excel lover and well versed.  However, I usually press control key to select multiple sheets.  This is not working with the excel I see on Peppermint.  I would rather not go back to Libre.

What am I missing here?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi ceidleigh,

A little more information would help greatly: which (spreadsheet) software are you using? OpenOffice,  or Libre Office or some other native Linux software? Or are you running this in M$ Excel that is running in some sort of M$ Windows emulator?  :-\

Welcome to our forums @ceidleigh .. if you are using the SSB link  found at
Code: [Select]
Menu > Office > Microsoft Excel Online
....please know this is merely a bookmark to the online free version of Excel and may not provide the fuller functions. I am not a user of Excel, nor an office suite user, so would not know if linking the SSB to your regular Excel account may give you fuller functionality?

 :-\

Perhaps one of the other #teampeppermint moderators who are familiar with office suites will chime in??

 ;)

EDIT: SSB = Site Specific Browser. All the links you see under OFFICE in the menu are ICE Site Specific Browsers... which link to online versions of each menu item.

Additionally, the Excel Help dialog section, allows one to see all the keyboard shortcuts the Online version supports

I was asking about Microsoft Excel which has the links to their website.  I found out that it is not fully functional and actually kind of worthless to me.  I have instead installed LibreOffice which will do what I want it to.

Thanks to all for their quick replies- love it.

Many of the Menu Items are links to online offerings... or SSBs... Site Specific Browsers. As I mentioned I am not a user, so don't know if linking them to your actual accounts would embellish the available keyboard shortcuts you were looking for.
