Peppemint 10 won't boot on HP G61
« on: March 15, 2020, 09:24:26 pm »
Hi Friends:

I am not able to boot Peppermint 10 on my HP G61.
I downloaded Peppermint-10-20191210-amd64.iso
Used UNetbootin-Windows-667.exe to make a bootble USB drive with 4086 MB for persistence
(the drive is 64 GB). I specified Lubuntu 18.04 live.
Nothing showed up on the HP G61. No messages - nothing just a blinking "cursor"
Linux Mint Tina on a USB drive booted fine on the HP so it's not HP's fault.
Peppermint 10 booted on a Lenovo H415 desktop but NO Pesistence!
What did I do wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi MintLuci, is this a multiboot usb or are you only burning one iso at a time? Many people suggest trying Rufus to burn your iso. Before doing that, try without persistence to rule that out.
What was I thinking?

@ alynur : Thanks for your reply.
I gave up on persistence - instead installed Peppermint 10 on the USB stick.
The HP G61 booted it ok.
Luckily the HP has two three USB ports so installing from a live USB distro to a "permanent" USB was possible.
