Display background color
« on: February 05, 2020, 06:08:18 pm »
I'm not sure how to describe this so I'm linking a picture.  Due to the way the background is highlighting I can't read the text.  I haven't a clue where to correct this?

Hi JWW!  I would start by going to the Peppermint settings panel by right clicking on your desktop and then look under "Customize Look and Feel".  Once that window opens, look for the Color tab.   Next,  select "Use customized color scheme" to define a lighter background on those windows.

Another more subtle option is to calibrate the gamma of your screen using Xrandr.   I spend too much time in front of my screen to not calibrate it.  Normal laptop LCD screens are waaay too blue.

if youre not a fan of dark themes try switching to a different theme like Arc default and see if it solves your problem. id also suggest checking if your desktop effects are turned on as the lack of a compositor can do things like that too.

run 'sudo apt install compton' to check if a compositor is already installed and if so open Peppermint Control Center from the menu, click on Desktop Effects tab and enable effects.

I didn't see any differences it made when I changed any of the settings except for the current windows I was making the changes to.  I changed the widget also.
