Today in Computer history...
« on: January 31, 2020, 01:02:23 pm »
In an odd twist of fate, today is the anniversary of the ending of Netscape Navigator browser development back in 2007. @PCNetSpec bested the browser that created the commercial www! Netscape only got to 9 releases, whilst @PCNetSpec developed 10 releases, and was likely already working on release #11 in his head. Even better, he put out more releases in a shorter span of time. How awesome izzat?

“Please observe a moment of silence for the Netscape browser. Netscape Navigator, the browser that launched the commercial Internet in October 1994, will die on February 1, 2008. AOL, which acquired Netscape in November 1998 for $4.2 billion, will announce today that they will discontinue development of the browser, currently on version 9.
