HDMI not working? (SOLVED)
« on: January 01, 2020, 03:57:54 pm »
Happy new year!

HI there folks,

I was just wondering if you could help me.

Today I tried to connect my laptop to a TV screen with the HDMI cable and, to my surprise (back in the windows days it worked) it's not recognizing the computer.

SInce it worked a couple of months ago on WIndows I don't think the issue might be the cable...

Any idea?

Thanks a lot for your great distro and support.

Xavi

The fact that xrandr is only showing one display means either the cable is faulty / the hdmi out on the laptop or the hdmi in on the TV

Do you have another cable and or another monitor to test the laptop with.

Back again!

Zeb, you were right.

The issue was the cable. A new one works perfectly.

Thanks for your kind help.
