K3b and Brasero no permission to cdrecord (Solved)
« on: December 23, 2019, 09:33:22 pm »
I have both K3b and Brasero failing for permissions issues. The user does have permission to the device and K3b says that the issue can be fixed in K3b settings. But I see nothing in there about it. In fact I don't see anything in k3b settings to change.

P.s. This is my Touchsmart M6 running Peppermint 9 with kernel 4.15.0-72

The CDr that I am using is set up as with a USB hard drive converter. I have not had any problems with this set up before so long as the drive is recognized So both CDr apps are seeing it. K3b givers permissions error messages and Brasero simply stalls.

Regards

Try the Green ticked solution here:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1032903/problem-with-k3b-in-18-04-releases-cdrecord-has-no-permission-to-open-the-devi

It should be suggested in k3b itself

Settings > Configure k3b > programs > Permissions (tab)

I didn't see that as I say but the code in the Ubuntu ticket did it.

Sure is a pain in the arse that Taptalk won't let me edit my own titles.
