Not quite sure what you're trying to do here ?

a) Change the window manager (as used after logging on)

b) Change something about the login screen

c) Swap out the greeter for something else

d) Something else

I ran "sudo apt install wm2(window manager) with out any problems.
But at the login(lightdm)screen, wm2 is  not being displayed in drop down menu that shows available window managers?

How do a manually  add wm2 to the login in screen drop down menu?

TIA,
David

wm2 is a window manager, not a session manager, so won't be offered as an available session at the login screen.

To use wm2 (instead of xfwm4) as the window manager, you'd need to start:-

Menu > Settings > Default applications for LXSession

select the "Core Applications" tab

then change:-

Windows Manager: xfwm4

to:-

Windows Manager: wm2

then log off and on again
