(SOLVED)Writing to a DVD
« on: October 13, 2019, 10:13:12 pm »
So, I'm putting together a DVD project, and I started with DVD Styler (installed from a PPA), but the write to the DVD said it was successful.  When the disc ejected, it was still blank.  So, I switched to simply creating an .iso file, and then tried both Brasero and XFBurn to put it onto the actual disc.  But both of them failed.

I'm wondering if it's permission related, because when I use a usb drive (after installing usbmount), I can't write or delete from usb drives without first right-clicking and selecting "Open as Root".  Is it possible I can't write to the DVD because I don't have the permissions?

Hi newb85, is the DVD mounted in file manager?
What was I thinking?

Yes, and it shows up on the desktop.  I'm beginning to think that it's not actually blank, or no longer writable, since the DVDStyler fail, even though the icon on the Desktop says it's blank.  Unfortunately, it was my last blank, so I'll have to get my hands on another to test that theory.

Oh the fun in DVD Styler and Brasero Burner. My films I made had hidden play buttons on them, so whoever borrowed my films or series would spend absolutely ages trying to hunt down where the play button was, used to drive my brother potty I just laughed while he got so annoyed and even more so when I done this.
Not only is Peppermint an addictive OS to use.
But so is this Forum :)
