Pandora restricted despite VPN
« on: September 29, 2019, 02:34:08 am »
Hi -- I have several Peppermint USB installations, and I've noticed that if I select Europe as my location, I am unable to connect to Pandora.com due to my location, even though I am successfully using a VPN.

Interestingly, on the installations where I selected the US as my location, Pandora works, even though I'm really in Europe.

I've tried changing the time zone back to the US, but that has not fixed the problem... any suggestions??

Unless I'm mistaken, when you set your "Location", you're not supposed to set your ACTUAL location .. what you're actually setting is where you want other sites to THINK is your location.

I take it you're doing this in Opera's built in VPN (which is really a proxy not a true VPN) ? .. if not, which VPN service ?
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.

Might try to use an open proxy server or chained servers to mask your location.

I do that when I'm... Er... Well... Let's just leave it at that  8)
