Thank you for your reply and your "welcome to the forum" to me zebedeeboss...i actually know of you from video blogs as well as your recent visit to the U.S. videos where i saw and heard you in a restaurant etc.

As i mentioned in my "new comer"  to the forum post, im not a "new comer" to Linux OSs nor to Peppermint in particular, i have used and still use many Linux OSs variants thereof since 2016.

My Linux Mentor that has taught me everything i know,  steered me in this direction and encouraged me to join this particular forum.

He is a veritable "fountainhead" and "Cornucopia" of Linux knowledge as well as Computer Science and Computer Architecture.

I probably will not be asking for help here as much as i will probably be able to help others with simple solutions to simple problems.

i cannot remember exactly how i came upon your video forums but if possible, please supply a link of where you appear that i might be able to listen in and maybe one day be able to join in on your online discussions when i am available to be able to do so.

And YES, He did teach me a whole lot about rewriting "code" that modified, or what i think is called either "tweaking" or "hacking" the original Peppermint Distro.

I really think he was a "black hatter" in another life back in the "bad" old 90s, lol.

This system just runs totally insane.

In my experience, "haxor/haxored/haxoring" covers it all. LoL :))

AH, PCNetSpec, Administrator.

You must be the famous, (or infamous), Mr. Mark Greaves i have heard so much about from my Linux tutor/mentor.

This is a very nice, non bloated, tidy distro i have the pleasure of using for the past 2 yrs or so, thanks to your diligent efforts.

Many thanks, The Omen

PS the captchas are torture, i would rather have a root canal minus the novacaine.

As a side note, what does the "karma" mean, i notice i have one, lol.

"infamous" LOL .. yeah that's me :))

Karma is just where people kinda 'upvote', aka. applaud (or possibly 'downvote', aka. smite) a post you've made .. here have a few more :)
('karma' is a running total of applaud minus smite)

WOW, i feel quite honored as a new comer with zero street creds on this forum as of yet.

As a side note, how do i give karma points to others that may deserve to have a few?

In the left hand column of this forum, under any users avatar (other than your own), you'll see [applaud] [smite] .. please be aware there is a limit of 2 in any 24hour period for any single user.

in other words you can only (for example) upvote a specific user twice in a 24hr period .. after that period you can upvote them again. You can upvote more than one user though, but just twice each, if you get my meaning.

applaud = upvote
smite = downvote
