Mouse cursor [SOLVED]
« on: August 24, 2019, 04:24:47 pm »
I just installed Peppermint and the mouse cursor is tiny. This is the first Linux distro that I can't find a way to to adjust the size of the mouse cursor through the use of the G.U.I. I looked in the Peppermint manual and returned no results in the search. I searched the Peppermint forum and could only find command line which I don't understand. How do I adjust the mouse cursor size using only the G.U.I.?

Welcome aboard, Crippled  :)

Doing a quick search, I found this, in an old thread: https://is.gd/GWeHXd

Might give it a whirl...

Thank you for trying. I found the same thing, but nothing about a G.U.I. way to adjust it's size so I can understand. It looks like all gibberish.

Try this...

Run:
Code: [Select]
sudo xed ~/.config/lxsession/Peppermint/desktop.conf
find the line that currently reads
Code: [Select]
iGtk/CursorThemeSize=18
and change it to say
Code: [Select]
iGtk/CursorThemeSize=36
or maybe even
Code: [Select]
iGtk/CursorThemeSize=72
or any other size you wish.

then SAVE the file .. the cursor should change as soon as you click 'Save'.

It's not the way it needs to be done in 2019, but it worked. Thank you very much.

Now you've brought it up, I'll see about writing a little GUI utility to change cursor size in the PM10 Respin

BTW, (even though I love Ghost 67's poetic style) can you please remove the video link from your signature, it kinda looks a mess when it's in every post you make so repeated multiple times on a forum page .. TIA :)
