Trouble uninstalling mono
« on: August 15, 2019, 08:47:15 am »
Hey Guys!

I installed monodevelop + mono but had really much trouble uninstalling them but they seem to be gone now. I still get some weird error messages when using the update manager and using the console "sudo apt upgrade" command.

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libglade2.0-cil libglib2.0-cil libgtk2.0-cil
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
3 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 2 948 kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]

When i press Y and enter i get:

Errors were encountered while processing:

 libglib2.0-cil
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

How can i remove this annoying messages? And why does it show?

Thank you :).

Try reinstalling them first
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libglade2.0-cil libglib2.0-cil libgtk2.0-cil
then purging them
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove --purge libglade2.0-cil libglib2.0-cil libgtk2.0-cil
any errors ?

You seem to have non-default versions of those packages installed.

can you post the output from:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep 2.0-cil
and
Code: [Select]
cat /etc/apt/sources.list; for X in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*; do echo; echo; echo "** $X:"; echo; cat $X; done

dpkg -l | grep 2.0-cil
gives me:
iH  libglade2.0-cil                          2.12.45-0xamarin17+ubuntu1804b1                 amd64        CLI binding for the Glade libraries 2.6
iH  libglib2.0-cil                           2.12.45-0xamarin17+ubuntu1804b1                 amd64        CLI binding for the GLib utility library 2.12

and
cat /etc/apt/sources.list; for X in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*; do echo; echo; echo "** $X:"; echo; cat $X; done
gives me:
