Folks,

Hopefully you can help.

I don't use Dropbox, so I removed it through the Software Manager.

However the icon/option for it still remains in the Peppermint Settings Panel in the User tab.

Since I don't have Dropbox installed I would like to remove it completely, especially from the Pep Settings Panel. So if someone could point me to the correct file to edit to eradicate it I would appreciate it.

Thanks In Advance

Take Care and Enjoy!
Dave

Don't really know, but I always do sudo apt autoremove in terminal. Did you try that?
Once Peppermint, always Peppermint.

Hi DaveVM,

The icon/option that refers to Dropbox in the Peppermint Settings Panel is hard-coded into that app and will not be removed by deleting/removing/purging anything related to Dropbox. Perhaps our Chief developer PCNetSpec can help you with this, but I would not worry about that icon being present.  ;)

Run:
Code: [Select]
gksudo xed /usr/share/peppermint-settings-panel/peppermint_sp.xml
find the line (should be line 10 IIRC):-
Code: [Select]
    <tool action="dropbox start -i" icon="dropbox" label="Dropbox"/>
and change it to:-
Code: [Select]
<!--    <tool action="dropbox start -i" icon="dropbox" label="Dropbox"/> -->
SAVE the file.

You're most welcome, sorry I missed the 'xed' in the first command .. that's twice I've done that recently :-[

Not to worry, I use nano as SU or Leafpad as root. And once I had the info on how to do it, I just did it.

Keep up the good work.
