What does that actually mean ?

Do you mean in the main menu ? .. in the "Software" application ? .. in the "Software Manager" application ?

I'm asking because I can't find anything in either "Software" or "Software Manager" labelled as 'Mozilla Firefox' .. and installing firefox in the normal way adds the main menu item "Firefox Web Browser".

I'm also a bit stumped why you needed to mess with Firefox in the first place as it's ALREADY installed in Peppermint 10 ?

Did you by any chance keep a home folder/partition from a previous version of Peppermint or a different distro ?

Here's a weird one for you...

I haven't used Fx in years; until recently. Then, while testing P10, I've suddenly taken a liking to the latest ver.

I always used to purge Fx immediately from my drive, after doing a fresh OS install. I tried to install the latest ver on my P7 machine, last night, but gave up (for the meantime) when it wouldn't connect to the net.

Today, I gave it another shot. After trying this n' that, I checked to see what would happen if I tried to load Fx from CLI.

It still wouldn't connect to the web, but strangely, it didn't give any error messages in CLI.

I finally discovered that my profile had been deleted, when I purged Fx (like 3 years ago). haha

I ran:

Code: [Select]
firefox --ProfileManager

I created a profile; and BOOM! Fx connected to the Internet.

Will little wonders never cease?

OT:

I just ran across a site with mixed content; and I'm seeing these Fx dialogs:

[First dialog] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/68.0.2/content-blocking/start/?step=1&newtab=true&variation=1

[Second dialog] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/68.0.2/content-blocking/start/?step=2&newtab=true&variation=1

[Third dialog] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/68.0.2/content-blocking/start/?step=3&newtab=true&variation=1

And, yes, I'm only seeing part of the web site. The rest is being blocked by Fx (as it should).

Really, I haven't used Fx regularly since ver 3.6.

And, I wasn't impressed with it until a month or so ago.

I don't know what changed for me, except that I forced myself to us it, for awhile.

Almost everything I hated about it have disappeared; and I don't think it psychosomatic.

Or, maybe it is  >:(

Firefox since version 1. I don't care if it's slower than Chrome or Vivaldi or Opera. I just can't live without it :-*

I've run Fx since Phoenix 0.1 - used to get in huge flame wars over it, when it first came out. Took about a year for ppl to acquiesce. When the tables turned, everyone acted like they had discovered it. LoL

I just didn't like the direction Big Moz took, after ver 3.5; and never looked back.

At this point in time, I feel that Opera & Fx make good bookends, with multiple Chromium windows in the center (for bots).

Good god, 2003 seems that long ago I had to run the math(s) to figure out if I'd been born :o

Sadly the math(s) gave me one helluva shock :(
