Chrome Browser on start up SOLVED
« on: August 03, 2019, 12:09:06 pm »
Hi,

I have recently installed peppermint 10 having been away for some time (4 years sharing Chrome OS- don't ask !!). I want to be able to get Chrome browser starting automatically on start up ( as in when I turn the computer on)  - is this possible if so how?  I have found the Peppermint settings Panel, gone to System and then Startup and default applications. When I try to add Chrome or Chrome browser then restart, it doesn't work.  Any help gratefully received, thanks.

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
cp -v /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop ~/.config/autostart/
log off/on to test.

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
cp -v /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop ~/.config/autostart/
log off/on to test.

Having done this 'richard@richard-Inspiron-531 ~ $ cp -v /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop ~/.config/autostart/'

I get
'cp: cannot stat '/usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop': No such file or directory'.

Any ideas please?

It may be a silly Question but do you have Chromium installed ?

Are you specifically looking for Chrome or Chromium?
