Hi all!

I have installed PM10 on HP Stream 13 but the OS can't see the WiFi card (Broadcom).
The installation:
-  the USB stick was created by Rufus ( GPT, UEFI, FAT32)
- Safety Boot is disabled in BIOS
- Clear installation

The installation went without errors and everything works fine but the WiFi card is not recognized.

The solution suggested here is:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install broadcom-sta-dkms

You might have to reboot. Is your wifi adapter recognised now?

Hi,

thanks for your answer but this solution needs access to the internet.

Unfortunately, this PC has no wired connection, only WiFi, which is not working.

I have other PC (Windows) with access to the internet and downloaded a file "broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-10_all.deb" bun I have no idea how to install it - my first attempt with Linux.

If you have time for helping me with it this is very appreciated, if not - I understand it too.

Thanks

SOLVED

I just want to describe what I did so other users with the same problem can repeat it.

I found and downloaded a file "broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-10_all.deb" (2,16MB) using another PC with internet access.
Then I copied this file to Peppermint's Desktop via a USB stick.

In Terminal:

cd Desktop/

sudo dpkg -i broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.271-10_all.deb

The installation went without errors and I rebooted the system.

Efter the rebooting my WiFi card has been found by the system and I could connect the PC to my WiFi net.

 After that, I ran

sudo apt-get update in Terminal and reboot the system again for controlling that the WiFi card doesn't fall off.

Now everything works fine and I feel my self as a smart guy  ;D

P.S: Many thanks to murraymint for helping!
