Linux Kernel 5 HWE not working properly. [Solved]
« on: June 17, 2019, 07:51:13 am »
Hello all,

So I've been trying to install the HWE 5 kernels on Peppermint, but it always seems to make the system not work properly, such as networking not working, the desktop lags heavily and mouse moves slow etc.
I've used the same kernels available on other Ubuntu distros with no problem, Linux Mint no problem, and Fedora with no problems. It just seems to be Peppermint which this problem exists.
Is there a reason for this? The way I've been installing them is under the Linux Kernel manager on the Update center. Maybe it is installing the kernels improperly?

Thank you.

Maybe try
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04-edge
but keep a record of what it says it's going to install before applying .. in case you wanna undo
