Mouse & Keyboard stop working
« on: June 03, 2019, 02:18:20 pm »
Argh, it was all going so well on my wife's PC and then her mouse and keyboard stopped working.  >:(

We did a hard re-boot and all was fine.... for a few hours and then both of them stopped working again.  The keyboard is a standard USB one and the mouse is bluetooth, but is plugged in to charge most of the time.

Help!!!  :'(

Strange  :-\ This happens to my keyboard sometimes after I hit a random key to awake my computer from suspend (I always use Suspend). I unplug the usb cable, plug it in again and my keyboard works again.
To Peppermint or not to Peppermint.

we tried that, it didn't make a difference.  The only way to get control back is to long press the power button to turn off and then turn back on again.
It seems to be happening every day or so.  I just hope it doesn't put the wife off Peppermint!

Is this only happening after suspend ?

Have you tried a different USB port, or mouse/keyboard ?

I haven't tried a different one yet as it seems strange that both stop working at the same time.   I will swap usb port on the keyboard and see if this helps.

Is there a chance it's not the mouse/keyboard .. maybe the entire PC is locking up for some reason ?
(is the clock still counting onscreen ?)

Does it only do this if left alone for a while  ? .. or does it do it whilst you're using it ?
