Cell Phones & Accessories
« on: June 13, 2019, 07:01:08 pm »
I buy computer components on Amazon. So, naturally, they get recommended to me. However, the categories for the recommendations can get a little wacky. Case in point:

Finally, I can live my dream of playing physical DVDs on my phone, plus I can buy some fans and thermal paste to keep things cool. :))

Well of course, I mean who wouldn't want that.

Now buy them, and they'll email you for the next year asking if you want to buy them again.
(do they have that little faith in their items longevity?)

A year? They already have two pocket knives, one of which I literally purchased last week, and my Logitech computer mouse on my "Buy it Again" list. The mouse was purchased the farthest back, not quite two months ago.  ???

I'd get it if I'd just bought say some toilet roll .. but generally when I buy say a monitor, I don't need another 2 days later ::)

Their category pictures under "Retro Gaming" are always stupid too. Though, that's because these products (and more) are listed under these categories:

Just to give them some context, these are the items pictured:

Playstation 2: A Playstation 4 VR bundle.
Sega Saturn, Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color: incompatible headsets. These systems have no use of a headset.
Nintendo NES and Game Boy: Nintendo Switch accessories.
Playstation: A PC/PS4 gaming wheel and pedal set.
Nintendo 64: A Nintendo Wii racing wheel.
GameCube: A PC mouse.
XBOX: An XBOX One controller.

The Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo and NVIDIA Shield icons are the only correct ones. The Genesis one shows the upcoming Genesis Mini, the SNES one shows the Super Famicom (European version of the system) Classic and the Shield one shows a Shield and controller bundle. Great job, Amazon.  ::)

Yes, yes indeed.
