Huion H610 Pro
« on: October 03, 2018, 08:47:50 pm »
I'm looking into buying a graphics tablet, and before I commit to one, I want to make sure I can get it working with Peppermint.  I'm looking at a Huion H610 Pro.  Their website indicates its drivers are Windows and Mac only on this model.  Other retail websites indicate (thru others' experiences) that a Huion can work in a linux os.  How much tweaking will be necessary for this to be a relatively pain-free experience?  Or, should I just go look for a graphics tablet that is Linux friendly out of the box? (I already have a list of those, but any additional ones are always welcome.)

I'm very much a novice when it comes to doing terminal stuff.  Any instructions would have to be exactly what I would need to type in.

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 5150 with Peppermint 8.

Many, many thanks!

Hi Sunchaser, how's it going  :)?  Yeah, you should be okay with Peppermint 8.  You're using the kernel v4.8.  The Huion H610 Pro tablet needs a kernel above, v3.5, see: Installing Huion Tablet.  All the drivers should be in the kernel.  I hope this helps  ;)

I see you're using Peppermint 8,  32-bit.  Could you possibly add the 32-bit info to your forum profile?  It would be a big help, if you need assistance in the future - many thanks  ;).

I use a xp-pen Star G640 Drawing Tablet ,  It's built on uc-logic drivers and works out of the box on a fresh install of Peppermint 10 . I believe most XP-Pen and Huion use uc-logic circuitry and should work.
