I'm saying nothing.....

Is Ubuntu MATE not stable ? (maybe interim releases ?) .. I've always heard good things about Ubuntu MATE and that it's one of the most solid *buntu's .. but I must admit I've never used it in anger.

I do admire Wimpy though, that dude seems to know his stuff, and comes across as very approachable and friendly guy :)

Wimpy had mentioned a bunch of stability fixes a few minutes earlier. I was just being cheeky.

I haven't tried MATE since 16.04 but I hear good things from Ghost 67 and others.

When I did use it I enjoyed it.

Follow on of Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) Ubuntu's best release IMHO, so what's not to like :)

My favorite version as well. I particularly liked the theme refinements. Wow it's been nearly 9 years already.

I was going to joke about creating a big ego but instead. I agree Peppermint has grown and thrived because of you hard work PCNetSpec.

I just noticed that all three of us have double aught "Karma" - 2100, 900, 100

Perhaps it's somehow reflective of our eg00s as well.   :-\

I'll need to think about that for awhile too...

Interesting pronunciation of MATE...  mah-tey like the drink yerba mate, instead of the presumed meit for going out with my mate

https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=pronunciation+of+mate

It was a nice bit of discussion.

I know it's named after the drink, but when I first saw it I figured because it's usually capitalised, as in 'Ubuntu MATE', I figured it was gonna turn out to be another Linux world recursive acronym.

Most Americans pronounce the drink the same as going out with their mate... for there's a refusal to acknowledge Spanish pronunciations, much like the British like to mispronounce French...
