fire up

Menu > Settings > Light Locker Settings

Change

Automatically lock the session: When the screensaver is activated

to

Automatically lock the session: Never

Click "Apply"

Did that make any difference ?

Yes Mark, that worked - thank you!  Now the screen goes black on power save which is how I recall the behaviour before.  I'd certainly never seen the session lock screeen before on any POS before 10.

Yeah that's because we switched out i3lock for light-locker as the screenlock .. for this exact security reason (light-locker being more secure).

You could always remove light-locker and light-locker-settings if you wish .. then things should go back to the Peppermint 9 behaviour (i3lock is still installed so you should just drop back to it automatically
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove light-locker light-locker-settings

Finally got around to trying your manual upgrade path, Chief, on my doorstop box. Good job...  :)

Cool, good to know for sure that it's now tested on more than one 32bit machine :)

Right!

And, a haxored one, at that...   8)

BTW, doing an A-B comparison, IMO the colors in PM10 are brighter than PM9, and with much better saturation.

It's a subtle difference, but very pleasing to the eye. Kudos

Sadly it's not currently possible to manually upgrade Peppermint 9 to Peppermint 10, so a fresh shareit apk install is required.

Sadly it's not currently possible to manually upgrade Peppermint 9 to Peppermint 10, so a fresh install is required.

The above script works for me every time on my 64bit systems, though I have backed up ISO once upgraded to Pep 10 using Systemback, just saves a lot of mucking around, if things go south? Which nine times out of ten they don't. Do not use the script to install the Kernel 5 stack as that is where you could end up getting into trouble.  ;D
Not only is Peppermint an addictive OS to use.
But so is this Forum :)
