Okay run:
Code: [Select]
xed ~/.config/autostart/touchpad-sensitivity.desktop
and when a blank file opens, make it read
Code: [Select]
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Touchpad Sensitivity
Comment=Set touchpad sensitivity
Icon=input-touchpad
Exec=bash -c 'xinput --set-prop "AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad" "Synaptics Finger" 50 80 257'
Terminal=false
SAVE the file and exit the text editor.

Log off and on again (or reboot)

then run:
Code: [Select]
xinput --list-props "AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad" | grep "Synaptics Finger"
to check it now reads
Code: [Select]
	Synaptics Finger (294):	50, 80, 257
if it does, you're golden :)

Code: [Select]
Synaptics Finger (273):	50, 80, 257

so i am good? because the first shows (273) and not the (294) in your post.
