Can't copy and paste in terminal
« on: May 14, 2019, 08:35:37 pm »
Hi guys,

I couldn't copy and paste text using shortcuts into my terminal; it only works with mouse. `ctrl` + `shift` + `C` or `V` just doesn't work.

Is there any chance I accidentally disable these functions somewhere?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Which terminal are you using, and are you using a clipboard manager ?

Use shift+c to cut, and then right-click in an open space on the terminal and click "paste.

I can't use keyboard shortcut either so just right click and use the mouse.

There are many ways to the same outcome.

I'm using zsh but when I switch to bash, it doesn't work either. I also don't use any clipboard manager.

I really don't like using the mouse for this, it feels just wrong.

That's not what I meant...

zsh and bash are shells not a terminals .. which terminal are you using (sakura / xfce4-terminal / gnome-terminal / etc.) ?

and can you explain how you switched to zsh ?

I'm a zsh user, too. Control characters have always acted that way, every since I can remember, in both zsh & bash.

You might find this enlightening...  ;)
