default keylink
« on: May 11, 2019, 02:15:59 pm »
thank you in advance for the help.
I created a new user account on a laptop that runs peppermint 7.  whenever i log in to this account (its a "desktop user" account, not admin), a box pops up and wants the account password to access a "default keylink" for wifi connectivity.  after i give the password, it then disconnects the computer from wifi and i have to reconnect.
this has never happened on the other account on the same laptop.
how do i make that go away?

Try this...

Log on to the PC on an admin account

Go to
Menu > Settings > Network Connections

Choose the network you want to allow other users access to, and select "Edit"

On the "General" tab, put a tick in the box "All users may connect to this network"

Another option might be to use
Users & Groups

select that user

click "Advanced"

select "User Privileges"

tick "Connect to wireless and ethernet networks"
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.
