Chromium and non sse2 processors
« on: August 12, 2014, 01:08:49 pm »
I just recently installed Peppermint 5 on an old HP pavilion ze4600, and everything seemed to be working well. Today, when I was working on it, I couldn't get chromium to load. After digging around, I found a post stating that from version 35 on, chromium would no longer be developed to work on processors which don't have sse2 capability, which evidently includes my old laptop.

So, I'm not sure what my options are, especially since Ice is integrated with chromium and so on.

Did chromium work before ?

What happens if you try to start it from the terminal with this commend
Code: [Select]
are any clues to why it's not starting returned in the kernel ?

You could always either install a non-aura version of either Chrome or Chromium .. see here:,494.0.html
