Pop Peeper Links
« on: March 26, 2019, 11:57:38 pm »
I am running Pop Peeper thru Wine. By default, it opens links in "Wine Windows Explorer".   WWE is not accepted by some sites. There is an option to change to an external browser, but I'm assuming it expects an exe file. If I want links to open in Chromium, where do I find it's exe equivalent?

Try doing a google search for "chromium for windows". You would be amazed by what you can find by doing google searches.  :D
What was I thinking?

I have Chromium on my P8 Respin. Biut I don't know what the initiation file is or where to find it. In other words, the exe - equivalent.

You can't use the Linux version of a web browser in WINE .. theoretically you could install the Windows version of say Chrome inside WINE (and make it the default browser for WINE), but I'm not sure how to do that or if it would work with your other WINE app .. you'd probably be better served asking this on the WINE forum.

https://chromium.woolyss.com/

The Windows binaries are down the page, past Linux and BSD.

I think the problem is in Pop Peeper itself. Most , but not all of it's functions work thru Wine. I tried a stand-alone browser with an exe extension.....no joy.
A PITA workaround - I cut the URL from Wine Internet Explorer and paste into the URL bar of Chromium. I guess that's my only solution.
