Dell XPS 13 no wifi (SOLVED)
« on: March 17, 2019, 12:35:05 am »
Hello,

I'm very new to Linux. Have installed Peppermint 9 on my Dell XPS 13. After installation the laptop is not able to identify any wifi network devices as available. I tried going to Edit Connections and put in whatever numbers I could understand from my wifirouter, but no luck. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Are you able to (temporarily) connect via an ethernet cable ?

or (temporarily) via a USB wireless adapter ?

I don't have a adapter for ethernet nor do I have a USB wireless adapter.
Sorry!

Okay that's going to make things much more difficult.

Did wireless work from the LiveUSB by any chance ?

[EDIT]

Oh, and does your BIOS allow you to disable "Secureboot" ?

Nice :)

Try running
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install broadcom-sta-dkms
then REBOOT

Did wireless spring to life ?
