blank screen after grub menu (SOLVED)
« on: March 16, 2019, 06:15:55 am »
Hi guys

A friend asked me to install Peppermint on his new pc currently running Windows 10, he need Windows & Excel for specific business software so I've installed it alongside Windows 10 and it's so far working fine except I need to run the nomodeset boot parameter every time at boot if not the screen just blanks out after the grub menu, I suppose I could edit the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file, but I'm not sure that would be the right thing to do even if it worked, it's an AMD graphics card see system info below

If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs then you're not quite grasping the situation

Hi!
I think you should actually do this on /etc/default/grub  and not on /boot/grub/grub.cfg

See here, https://askubuntu.com/questions/38780/how-do-i-set-nomodeset-after-ive-already-installed-ubuntu
Just say NO to flatpak and snap!!
