Thanks y'all for all your hard work!
« on: March 15, 2019, 12:49:11 am »
Greetings y'all!

I have been a user of open source; linux from 1998 on. That was on a 486dx4/120.. And a ton of slackware disks.. Driver hell and all that? I did not give up. I actually loved it. Siting the dark, trying to figure out driver issues and what not. Thankfully I had my trusty Ti/99a that could dial it to some amazing BBs's to help me figure it all out.. Ah! The old days!
I always wanted to get the best out of every computer I owned. Not just something I used, but something that meant something to me. Each computer, each job within the field taught me more. I found the fun of blackbox, flux and openbox. Found a great home within #! for many years. My gear ran circles around my windows friends!I I got through college running DSL on a pair of T22's while my classmates struggled with winders on their Dell  kits running XP..
While Peppermint might not be the next iteration of #! it seems to be something better.  I know about Bunsenlabs and C++ close, but not for me.

Y'all have made an amazing OS. I have migrated all of my older kit (dual cores) to pep and I am not looking back. I am pushing an iso build to my x220 and my custom built work station. After a lot of hopping? This really feels like OS home again.. I only wish y'all had an IRC channel. That was where I could/did help with #! and a few other distros.

I would love to help in anyway I can!.

 Thank y'all again,

With all respect,

drakken

Good god, you've been doing this Linux thing forever, were computers people even invented in 1998 ?

Just kidding, welcome to Peppermint and the forum drakken, if we've replaced CrunchBang we must be doing something right :)
