Those settings will NEVER be available in a PRIME setup because they apply to the rendering which is actually being done by the Intel chip (even when you're using the NVIDIA profile).

That's not necessarily the same as saying screentearing can't be mitigated if you're suffering it .. but we'll first need to know if you are ?
(oddly I suffer it on one system, but not on the other :-\)

[EDIT]

Also, have you now got weirdly small text on things like the panel and logout screen (whilst using the NVIDIA profile) ?

BTW, don't be thinking "well if there's not much I can do in nvidia-settings anyway, why not just go back to the 415 driver"

If nvidia-settings isn't working, neither will the NVIDIA profile be working (so you'll be stuck using the intel chip only).

I guess you could try 410 from additional drivers and see in nvidia-settings work with that.

[EDIT]

I'd also suggest once you have a working setup, you stick with the NVIDIA profile permanently .. switching to the Intel profile, then back again changes the nvidia settings to defaults (so lets say we apply a fix for sctreen tearing or that small text, switching to the intel profile then back agin will mean you have to re-apply the fixes)

PRIME configuration is a feking pain, it's okay when it's set up as long as you don't change it ::)

Hi

it is obviously using the Nvidia-driver now as ETS2 on highest quality is smooth as silk.

Let sleeping Dogs lie and enjoy it whilst it is working :D

I will also try and see if I can stream from this as well.  Something that was impossible to do from Windows.

Many Thanks again

Regards Zeb...

Oh, and let me know how it works with streaming .. it'll be interesting to know if the nvidia or intel chip does that work.
(I'd assume the nvidia, as that's doing all the maths when using the NVIDIA profile)

BTW, if you have crazily small text on the panel/logout screen/etc. whilst using the NVIDIA profile, run
Code: [Select]
xed ~/.Xresources
and when a blank file opens, make it read
Code: [Select]
Xft.dpi: 96
save the file, then log off/on

Damn, and it was going so well :(

I guess the obs/nvenc thing proved it was using the nvidia card doing the heavy lifting for streaming though.
