Hey rjm65 .. and thank you for the listing .. all timely and useful info.
No problem, I keep all information like this in text files on my usb stick, it helps me when installing peppermint on peoples machines...
It saves me the time of going to board and looking everything up in old posts...  :)

All that info is in the man page:
Code: [Select]
man 3 strftime

No need for notes .. the man and info pages should always be your first port of call :)

Update .. OK, I changed the  clock readout a few times to find 1 I like, based on the information respondents shared.  Two patterns in the lagging seemed to appear, 1>some changes made the clock lag a couple seconds before taking off, and  ...2> sometimes the same lagging would appear right after I reset panel.

Outside of that, for the most part, no lagging.  Current clock display format is = %S %b %e %a >%I:%M%P<.

Put seconds first so at a glance I can check for  lagging, and actual time in brackets so my eye can quickly focus on that.

You bet .. I must say both version 4 on this netbook, and the Ice version on my older HP netboo,k are both extremely stable.

2nd update .. no lag noticed lately ...  yesterday was typical use, did not fuss with panel nor clock settings.  Only real improvement/change I made was to add all the screen savers [which I would not think would affect clock visually since not visible].

No fooling.
